Whisky Tango Foxtrot...or AutoX attempt #2

So I go down to Birmingham for ALSCCA's autoX yesterday...Had to work with the Tech guy's to get cleared due to not being able to find a Batt hold-down that would work, work the corner the first heat, get ready to run.

..Leave the line, turn the first corner, and the FRAKIN P/S-W/P belt breaks...AGAIN!!! Pulled My shoulder trying to finish the run...DNF cause I couldn't turn the slalom...Frantically call LITTERALY every parts store in a 150 mile radius...wha'dya know...NOBODY stocks this DAMN belt. So I had to get my car towed today...80 miles:banghd:...I guess I'll try it again after the first of the year...AFTER I figure out why this car likes to eat that particular belt...Why can't we run a serpentine on a MTX???


But, Now I know what to expect...And even as bad as it was...I SO want to run again!!

Plus, I got to see these and meet the drivers...

The Orange one is Turbo'd...Aprox. 500 Hp!!!! It sure sounded BADASS!!

Clean your camera lens!

Are all the pulleys in line properly, or is one tweaked? How about motor mounts, can they be flexing enough that the belt hits something? Hope you get it sorted, autocross looks like a blast.

This is what my money is on, 99% of the time when a car keeps throwing belts, it's because of either a bad tensioner, or misaligned pulleys.

Yeah, I know I've got a bad mount...I'm gonna check the pulleys tonight when I get started on it...

And I didn't realize the lens was so bad due to how bright it was out there...I think the kids have been playing with this camera LOL

Wait until you get a set of Sticky Tires.

My SHO with it's sway-bar combo (19mm F/ 26mm R) and my previous set of tires that were not very sticky at all had some crazy Snap over-steer. However, Even when the rear end would Jump out on me it was never a "OMGZ0RS IM GONNA DIE!!!11!1!" type moment as I would just Throttle down and continue on my way. When I put my new Tires on, The car no longer Oversteers. It doesn't understeer either. Infact, It's just ridiculously Neutral to the point where I am still having trouble finding it's absolute Limit...well...not accidentally anyways.

Well, I can tell ya he knows what he's doing. That video is coming out of turn 6, through 7 and down Hurry Downs at Road America, at a pretty good pace too.
