I have a new to me 91 MTX. The PO has the cooling fan wired to B+, so I want to set things right. The temp gauge is also inop and I suspect the problems are related. My question is where do I locate the IRCM to check the circuits? Thanks for any guidance.

On the thermostat housing there are 2 different temperature sensors.
The one with the single wire runs the temperature gauge.
The other one, with 2 wires, feeds info to you computer.

Your temp guage sensor is bad or disconnected. It's located right under the coil pack, on the engine. It has a threaded ****** sticking out, where the L-shape rubber boot connector slides onto.
