Where to buy new compact spare tire?

Does anyone know where the compact spare tires are available new? Don't need rim, just tire. Dry rot I guess since inflation pressure was within specs, but the never used spare ruptured while in the trunk.

I also don't want to keep a full size spare in the trunk since I need the space. I'd rather get a new one since getting one from a junkyard might not be in any better condition that the one that just ruptured.

honestly I've never heard of one exploding from age in the trunk.. but I'm sure you're correct that it did... I personally woudl just go grab mabye a spare out of a low mileaged taurus or Sable in the JY, and be done with it... thats just my .$.02 :corn:

or just get a smallie from the tire shop- they can get them. Cheapest is to just go to the junkyard. I second that opinion!

I'd make sure that your trunk isn't leaking and somehow contributed to the damage to the tire.
