Just like I said... I've been tracing this short in my car, and came across a melted connector... anyone know where that "B2" pin goes? Small green wire with a white strip it looks like... I don't have a diagram of the headlight switch around... or I can't seem to find it on the CD...

You need to look at the EVTM, cell 149-1 gives you the connector testing instructions and 92-3 gives the schematic. Looks like it goes to the fuse panel, fuse 4 (20A) and supplies power for the parking lamps. It is always hot.

There is a recall for that connector. Obviously you're replacing it (well, hopefully) but the real solution is to run relays for your headlights; this removes all the current from the headlight switch, which is what melted it in the first place.

I wonder if this is fromt adding the lights to the fish tanks... I have a seperate relay for my fogs which is nice and close to the battery and fog lights... maybe I'll just do the same for the parking lights..

And no I wasn't planning on replacing that connector... I'll go and ask the dealer the next time I'm out that way and see if they have one. I was however replacing the switch as it was starting to act up... noticed it when I pulled it off..

Edit: I called.. no open saftey recall for it... but he thought 2 more bulbs could be 'just enough' to get a little warm... and if it isn't sun shining outside my parking lights are ALWAYS on

*shrug* just put LED bulbs in the fishtanks. They draw, what, like 30mA? That's what I did.
