FAST4DR, I like the AutoPC!! I was just wondering if you noticed any difference in the sound quality/power from your subs when you took your back seat out? I tried doing that but i didn't notice any difference, if anything I felt I lost sound quality. As far as my stereo knowledge goes, I always understood it as; the air that is pushed by the subs needs to bounce off of something to get the best possible sound (like the rear of your trunk?) Also have you dynamated your trunk?? It makes a world of difference if you haven't yet, especially when your subs are pushing alot of air!

i will post the pics when i get a minute and figure out how to do it again, as for the system, i haven't been inside my car in 6 months, so i don't remember all the model numbers

head unit- pioneer, the 2000 unit with the dolphins, the 2nd level of 3($500 i think)
in the cabin- infinity reference 5 1/4" components(will be switched for 6 1/2")
pioneer 6x9 4 ways
a lotta wire going to the trunk
4 gauge power and ground wire
autotek bass thrust 7150 pumpin 2 12" atomic apocolypeses in a 1 1/2" custom built box with 2 3" ports, 3/4" plexi in back of box, yellow street glows inside, green strobes inside, inside is all paintd yellow, green carpet, ports are yellow(box alone was $1400 and took me 2 weeks off and on at night to design(still not finished building it) the 7150 is getting switched out for an autotek mx-1300(1300x2rms at 1 ohm) when comp season comes back around. the cabin speakers will be run by an autotek 60x4(4ohm lol, puts out about 400x4 at 1ohm) oh, and two tsunami 1 farad caps, and a deep cycle under the hood. i also have two green street glows shining ont he box inside the trunk. all the wire is tsunami competition wire, all yellow and silver, the RCAs are tsunami twisted yellow and silver. i think thats it, i have put about 4 grand into the system, about 2500 more to go( will go in before comp season)

3 outs or two on the back if its 2 its the 7200 same I have. Well me I've got ziltch in the trunk now. a posible warped head will wait till next year to fix or part the rest of the car and keep the motor for "core" stuff on the next SHO. (Sigh) tomorrow I my Pioneer 7200, Polk 6x8's(Pioneer in the doors stay cause one has a buzz now), MB Quart 10, MTX bridged amp and the JVC 4x50 to my Tempo. This is so depressing, I miss having the gass pedal do something.

Lucky, you got the nice one. I made the mistake of buying mine sight unseen from E-bay trusting that the guy knew the difference between 2 and 3 outs. Dolphins are pretty though right?

Message to COBRIA! Flip that California amp man! You're overheating it! That heat sink is put there for a reason. Once you flip it vertically the heat will be able to travel up and away. Right now all your'e doing is trapping it. Thats bad. Oh for everyone to know if you have a custom box its not supposed to be a perfect square or rectangle. Its always gotta have some curve in it.

What do I have in my trunk? Bottle rockets, wiffle ball bats, couple packs of Roman candles, 3,5, & 7 irons, and a pitching wedge. Box of wolf's head motor oil, red mechanic's rags, pair of jack stands, a blanket, and a cooler. No kidding. I always come prepared. Reminds me I have to clean my trunk out.

Yes!, With the backseat out you can feel your hair move and it will make you sick in no time. It still jams with the seat installed, just doesn't hit quite as hard. The bass really increases if I open the trunk lid. There must be a lot of cancellation going on with the trunk closed. I tried at one time trying to seal off the front from the rest of the trunk but it didn't seem to make a difference.

The AutoPC is really cool when traveling but the sound quality isn't that great. I have a Sony Mobile ES deck that I took out that I really liked.

All that you see in the pictures is currently removed. I am going to change my system around a little. For the bass I am switching to a single 12" Infinity Beta bandpass box. I am keeping the Amps, sold the EQ and moving the AutoPC down and reistalling my Mobile ES Deck. Also trying to squeeze in a 6.4 video/TV screen somewhere.

Right now I just have the AutoPC hooked up thinking I was just going to sell my stereo stuff and go for the light weight performance side of things, but I just can't. Speed and tunes just go hand in hand.

William

Jibberish I realize the amp is mounted sideways. I took that into consideration when I mounted it. I have it running on a four ohm load and with the airspace around it there is absolutely no problem with heat. It barely gets warm. On an up note yesterday I replaced my clarion head unit with a Pioneer Dehp-9300. Now I just need to find someone with the docking station to put some pictures of the SHO on it.

My system has been evolving quickly. Right now I've got a Clarion 9675z feeding a Nakamichi PA304 (30x4) that drives 2 BA 6.5's in front and 2 Clarion 5x7 plates in back. Then I've got a PPI A300 driving a single JL 12" (I think it's a W4) At this point I'm trying to figure a good way to anchor the box so I can drive the way I want to again!

I've also ot a single neon tube lighting the trunk, one under each side of the dash, one under each front seat to light the rear footwells, and the neon wires running along the outter edge of the front door panels and around the center console. I'm planning to get the Indiglo gauges in white reverse with blue letters so they will glow blue at night like the current VW's. I think that looks so sweet.

I'll try to get some pictures together when I get back home. I've been in Frankfurt for the past 3 weeks. I'm having SHO withdrawl! My dad drove it for me the other day. He said it started quicker than his does despite sitting idle for 2 weeks! Can't wait to take it out again!

Also, if anyone wants any Clarion equipment, let me know. I can get it nearly at dealer cost. I only paid $350 for my 9675 and it was new.

couple of ***** amps sliding around unhooked. couple crappy tape decks sliding around. 12 dics cd changer also unhooked.

Now for what use to be hooked up...
2 MTX 6000's in a sealed box with a small MTX 102 pushing them. It actually hit pretty hard for such a small amp.

Next system is sitting in my garage in boxes: MTX 81000 Class D amp
eek.gif
and the largest 4-channel they have out i forget the bs numbers. Still deciding on which subs to go with. Just might go with 2 MTX 8000's

I have just a Pioneer DEHP-6000 deck(old model), one JBL GT sub 12" powered by a Kenwood 600w max power amp. Hits pretty much hard enough for my taste. The box is too damn heavy though, when I take out my sub my rear suspension literally comes up a good 3/4-1"

Well, lets see...no pics of the system but this is what I currently have.

Pioneer Deh-P7200 w/organic display head unit. Kenwood 3 ways in the front doors, Kenwood 4 ways in the rear deck. Home made ported bandpass box in the trunk w/2 12" Power from the Gods woofers and a 600w Lanzar Vibe amp.

Not the most powerful here but I figure it's enuf for me and the sound inside is incredible. That's all I'm after anyhow.

Hey guys/gals what do you think about the Alpine F#1 status cd player? (CDA-7990) Since I am buying a good amount of stereo eq I have been offered quite a nice price for this unit. I am either getting that one or the Eclipse 8061.
