Wait, what...

Torrie does free revisions is you add a part?

So if for example, I ordered a CAI, 3BAR, t-stat and an X4, I can data log for my initial tune, then later down the road add down-pipes and/or a catback and he will rework my tune accordingly without purchasing another tune file?
Yup!!

Yes Torrie will continue to support you as you add parts.
I started with the basic 170*/3bar/tune setup.....scored a screaming deal on low mileage downpipes....and now we are doing a few revisions running a e20 mix.
Can't really say enough good things about his customer service.

I went with Unleashed for a couple reasons. First, both companies make great tunes and have excellent results. You can find countless posts of people arguing about which company is faster. Bottom line is they are so close that there is no definitive answer and driving is going to be a bigger factor than the tune. With them so close in speed, it broke down into two factors: how they would work with potential future mods and price. At the time I figured I would want meth eventually but didn't know if it would be an alky system or not. Livernois will only support their system so if I wanted a different meth system, it was out of the question. Then the price of Torrie's tune/tuner is cheaper than Livernois. In my eyes I see it as you cannot go wrong with either, they are both [arguably] the same speed, and one costs less. Both companies give free tune revisions if you add more parts later.

You don't even have to go up to 110. I did my data logging with runs up to about 90 mph. I would head South on the interstate while it wasn't busy, exit on a country exit, stop at the start of the north bound on ramp, and data log up to around 90. While 90 is 20 mph over, get on the brakes and you're at 80 mph (speed of most traffic) quick.

After logging I would pull off the next exit (4 miles), email Torrie, head back the other direction, and usually by the time I got off the interstate again I had the next revision.
Very similar here

Livernois is great if you don't want to deal with much and you are not looking to experiment. Their tunes are tested in house before being sent out en masse.

Torries tunes are custom one off for each car based on what he sees in the datalogs. It takes additinonal time and effort to get results and you can experiment with E mixes etc..

Both tuners have cars running similar times, and no one has blown up a car yet using their recommendations..

You can also ping AJPTurbo over at Ecoboost Performance Forums and see if he is taking customer's right now... He also does custom tunes with the SCTx4... He is a bit newer to the game but so far has had excellent results.

Livernois, Unleashed, and AJPTurbo all have different methods to tuning... Just depends on how much effort you are willing to put into it..

Whichever way you go, its a blast!

Let me chime in a lil for Livernois. I've been running the 4+X tune for 15 of the 18months and 16kmiles I've had my sho. 3bar map, 160deg tstat. I drive hard. The trans tunning is top notch. I went with Lms due to the fact that they work very closely with ford. The other reason is the MyCAL platform. It allows Lms to access like 10,000+ different tuning parameters while the SCT platform is only capable of accessing around 2,000+. To me this allows Lms to get the closest to a factor quality powertain calibration. Sort of like a 1megapixel image to a 5mp image. The picture is the same but the 5mp image has soo much more detail that makes the image closer reality. Meaning they have the ability to fine tune their tunes, which to me will make the vehicles behavior more stable and predictable in a much wider array of driving conditions and situations. Less software/pcm logic glitches if you will. They have/had several in house development vehicles that they beat on to test their calibrations as well as durability. I work in fords prototype vehicle division so my standards for r&d practices are quite high. Ive seen , heat/stress related failures on all platforms from fiestas, gt350's to 2017raptor and superdutys. They put the hottest cal in, with extreme heat and high load in the wind tunnel dyno or in Arizona dessert. So having a durable, glitch free tune is at the top of my list. Lms seems to be serious abt their r&d for what might be classified as just a tuning shop. Which is why I purchased downpipes and will continue to use them for my tuning needs. Not a knock on Torrie, as I have only heard good things about him as well, and if value and experimentation is what you're after Torrie all the way. But I do feel that there are a few potential things that makes Lms a bit better, overall for durability and drivability. Just my take.

Lots of good points that I cleared up to not have a mile long quote stream

I agree with your initial post 100% and is why I haven't opted to purchase either as of yet.

I am however, very interested with the sct and having the ability for a tune designed for my car...which is a possibility to do so with LMS, but I have to make the 8+ hour journey to their shop, which would also tune my vehicle to its 'peak' in a Michigan type atmosphere.

Sure it may or may not drop/increase some power here or there, but it's to a climate that isn't where I drive 99.99999% of the time.

I'm only saying this as I previously had a S/C Mach-1 tuned in the south, then had it on a dyno locally just to obtain numbers and it performed significantly worse than what my 'tuning sheets' had displayed.

Could that have been from falsified numbers from the tuner to seem better at what they do, perhaps...same goes for the local set of rollers.

However, I'm just going on my own personal experience where the time on a dyno had a gap of maybe 10 days.
