FYI - Livernois has their Gen 4 SHO Intercoolers on sale for 20% off. I paid $802 total, $680 for the "Street" Intercooler + $122 Shipping (MI to TN). Ordered on Nov 21st and it arrived on the 25th. It was well packaged and undamaged except for a few fins being bent and some slight aluminum oxide (see pics). For those of you that do not wish to wait on GH to be back in stock, you might consider getting an Intercooler from Livernois. The sale is listed as ending on the 27th.

I'll post a thread on my installing this in the spring. I can't speak to performance and fit of this until then. Being from MI originally, Livernois was with 15 miles of me and have had many dealings with them over the years. Among the people I know and myself, we have received good customer service and products from them. I'm not endorsing them; I'm just putting it out there that my experience has been good.

I hope this serves some use to those of you weighing the issues on which Intercooler to buy and from who.

Thanks for sharing, keep us informed. Do they provide install instructions? And just because I had very bad experience with Diablo Sport now owned by Holley, doesn't mean if they made something else I wouldn't weigh my options.

No install instructions or notes in the box. I did reach out to them today to see if they had any - we'll see if they get back to me.

I know a guy that just got one a few weeks ago, gonna need to cut a bunch of your core support to make it fit and good luck getting the hoses on the new intercooler.

So this statement for both the race and performance is accurate? LOL

You could be right; I may need to cut the core support. Livernois does sell 2 versions of the intercooler. A "street" version and a "race" version. Both of them say "*some trimming of the core support may be necessary..." I'll post the photos when I do it.

As for the hoses, I assumed that would not be straightforward. I swapped out the Inter-Cooler Pipe from an Explorer (Ford PN DB5Z-6F073-B) to eliminate the "noise maker" and it was not a direct fit. I had to swap the hose from the Taurus onto the new assembly to get it to work. BTW, the assembly (~$158) comes with the 3-Bar MAP sensor (~$112) installed that is used for the 3-Bar manifold upgrade. I used the old one off the Taurus Inter-cooler pipe as part of a 3-Bar tune upgrade.

Ya i'm 90% sure he got the street version, but not positive. If you have a dremel already it's no big deal. He said getting the hose on way a bigger pita than cutting the core support.
