I'm living up to my username and getting too old to work under the hood of my "98 Gen 3. We bought the car in 2000 and were the second owners (was a FoMoCo executive car before that). Had about 18K miles when we bought it and now sits at 123,810miles. I switched to Mobil1 5W30 at my first oil change and have used it ever since. I read about the cam issues 'way back when on v8sho.com and had the cams professionally welded in 2003 at about 40K miles. The car has been well maintained all its life and is in good condition mechanically. Nearly everything is original and still works: IMRC, SARC struts, radio, AC, everything but the trunk-mounted CD changer (which may be cleaned, lubed, and resurrected). Tires are BFG G-Force Sport Comp 2's with only 5,000 miles on them (purchased March 2016). Most maintenance and repair records are available.
Now for the honest disclaimer: 18 years of California sun have not been kind to the black paint and tan interior. Clearcoat is badly oxidized, leather is cracking, and plastic has suffered. Body is pretty straight except for a ding in the right front fender. Never been crashed except for my wife's fender bender.
The car still runs great, needs some cosmetic TLC BUT is far from being a POS! I'm a retiree with limited income and capabilities and don't have the incentive to restore it to its former glory. I would like to pass it on to someone who will keep this great car alive so I'm listing it here before it goes up on C-list for some street racer to run into the ground. Heck, I recently spent $400 getting a bad crank position sensor diagnosed and replaced (among other things) so I could (hopefully) sell it here as an intact, running car. If it doesn't sell here on SHOforum I'll let it go to the rice rocket guys on C-list
I'm not sure how much to ask, so I'll start at $2200, but feel free to make an offer. You can reach me through SHOforum.com or by phone at six 6 one, nine 7 eight, 2 zero zero 8. Photos available upon request.
