i am in the process of install a gauge pod, but i need to know what gauges are important. as of now i am getting Oil pressure, but what else? I was thinking Cyl. head temp, or trans temp.
I have a dual pod, but made another for the spot were the Tapes go in the dash, so i can put one more there.
what other 2 gauges should i get? :thumb:

so... what do yall think... Oil pressure, Cyl. head temp, and trans temp.
I might put an air fuel mointor in the tape holder place. i just have to cut my custom mount for it so it will fit in the center.
comments?

I don't really see a need for cylinder head temp. An accurate water temp gauge would be more beneficial. I would not bother with the A/F gauge unless you are going to get a wide band. I would stick with water temp, oil pressure, volts for at least three of them. If you do not have a Quaife, I would not bother with a trans temp gauge, provided you have a MTX. If you are not overly modified, you do not really need many gauges. They are nice to have, but I only have gauges because I've changed so much on my engine and tranny.

Sounds good. what about oil temp, instead of the volts?
So far im getting the Water temp, and oil pressure.
I might just stick with those 2 for now, cause i only have a dual pod. but i dont mind running the extra gauge to the tape holder, considering they are all in the general area.

Also, should i get electrical, or mechanical? either way, i have wired them up before, but i dont know if there are any drawbacks with electrical gauges. only thing i have a problem with is a mechanical oil pressure gauge. I dont like the fact of running an oil line and then somthing happen and then oh ****.
Hope you see my point with that. thanks jason..

I have electrical gauges and they are fairly accurate for the range they show. I wish they had mechanical Lunar gauges when I bought mine. If you get a good quality gauge, you'll be fine. I do, however, love the full sweep of the mechanical gauges.

If you're not running your car extremely hard, I would not worry about oil temp to be honest. I'll eventually get one when I install the SC.

I have tranny temp and voltmeter. They work out great. Next up is the water temp and oil pressure.
