Hey, I just got my 3rd SHO about 2 weeks ago, and the guy had this thing with it. Its a Superchip. He said something about it raises your redline and some other performance stuff, but im not sure what. Does anyone here know what these are programed to do? How much do they cost brand new? Can someone shed some light on this for me? P.S. I have not tried putting it back on the car yet. He took it off when I got it because I told him I wanted it in stock form.

No real way of nothing exactly what it does, unless you read the chip, and load the binary into tuning software. I'm not familiar with Superchips, so they may have some proprietary design in their chip so only special hardware and software can read it.
Depending on how the chip was programmed, it might only work on a certain type of SHO ECU. If this was a mail order chip, I can't image anything being changed more than your basic scalars, like idle, RPM limit, etc.
Contact Superchips, and see what they offer as far as services, for reading and programming that chip.

in my limited experience, the blue ones are a pretty generic tune...lean it out a little bit, maybe bump the timing a tad, and higher rev limit. if memory serves, it's not retuneable. really not worth anything, but run at your own risk. the guy i bought my 95 from had one in it, and aside from really crappy gas mileage and a dead spot right around 3500rpm, i felt it actually took power away from the car...especially once i reinstalled my custom programmed chip.

Contact Doug Lewis at FPS in Atlanta, I think he's prob the main superchip tuning expert for the SHO's. He's on the forum too, but I don't think very much? He is also listed as a vendor here, so you can find his info there.

Thanks for the help guys, I didnt want to plug it in until I knew exactly what this chip was tuned for. All I know is that he told me he had someone willing to trade him the interior of a car for the chip. This car desperately needs new front and back seats...ah I wish he would have done it.
