Anyone ever had this?
Just blew an upper hose on the freeway. Luckily there was a parking place so I immediately parked it, got a cab to NAPA and picked up an aftermarket hose (Gates), Installed it on-site in 99 degree heat. No leaks but I can still smell AF once when things get hot. Maybe just residue(I hope- no visible leaks and everything else seems OK).
The hose I got is a little longer than the Ford unit and does touch the wire to the MAF and rubs against the relay box.
Here's the problem:
When things get hot the OD kicks in and out and/or fails to take commands entirely. Once the temp guage took a dive at the same time but all other times it reads about 1/4-1/3 up the scale.
Had the OD problem before but it turned out to be a faulty computer.
My theory is that the hose touching the relay box is overheating relays and electrical stuff.
Any experience here or other theories?
