Weird Ignition thing

is it normal for SHOs to start with anything? I start mine with a pocket knife when I'm lazy...

The first 89 i owned had a broken ignition lock, i could start it just by turning the switch (no key at all)

Yes. Taurus ignition cylinders are crap.

I could start mine with anything including a penny. I could remove the key while it's running, etc..

Our old 38 Chevy would do the same thing. My mother misplaced the keys while at church and used the bottom part of the Crucifix of her Rosary beads to start it. A most blessed car.
