Aww shucks, you guys are alright. :)

Bob, I did take a picture of my trunk today only because you said something. I'll send it to you later or post it up.

Gut the ac compressor. Take the lining out of the trunk. Take out the dampners in the engine bay. and that is it...

how much wieght did that save? cutting out the spare tire well that is.
It saved no more than a couple of pounds. The real gain was all the extra room I gained under the car to work on the suspension. As far as a weight savings, it is a bit of a waste of time considering the minimal gains.

So, who has the lightest SHO now? I think my new track car will be in the running. The cage has lots of feet of tubing, but there is not much else to the car, so I am hopeful for some sub 2700lb numbers.

Just removed another 20lbs the other day. But I will be adding some back when I install the dash.

Any idea how much weight a 10-point cage adds?

Figure out what size and material tubing you have, then measure all the tubes. Add a few pounds for plates and welding material.

12" of 1.75" OD x .120 wall thickness weights about 2lbs

Im going to bump this cause i need to pull more weight out but not sure where i should move next. I weighed in at 2840 a couple days ago and just removed another 45-50 pounds out. I imagine im around 2790 now.

The car has no dash, no interior at all, rear door panels cut out, lexan rear windows, no mufflers, carbOn fiber hood, and lots of other stuff.

Whats the most popular way to reduce the weight of the bumpers? How much weight could i save with a lexan rear glass? How much in the metal trunk bracing?

My goal would be around 2700 pounds and i would be stoked to see that.

smaller gas tank.
And id think with the lexan rear window would be good for another 10 to 20ish pounds?
Trunk stripped of its bracing another 5-10.
no idea on the bumper id guess 15lbs max.
Carbon fiber trunk lid?
Lighter rims.
Smaller brakes. (im guessing it has the 11.6's?)
remove the latches in the rear doors and pin them shut.
the driver could always start losing weight :naughty:

You're at the point where all you can do is remove 1lb here and 3lb here till you get to where you want to be.
