Probably something along the lines of "damn, I'm printing these things for pennies, and these suckers are paying $20!".$20 buy it now...accepted!

You’re exactly right. I felt the same so tried to be cheep and started at $18. To which he countered $27. Oh well, I tried.Probably something along the lines of "damn, I'm printing these things for pennies, and these suckers are paying $20!".
I guess I'm used to those ports being shiney clean. But that doesn't look good to be.Got my car back and tried to get some pictures with a borescope. I’m not very good at this. There’s some buildup, but overall pretty clean.
I’m sure I didn't get all 6 cylinders, but I’m much less worried about this now. At a minimum, I don't think it's blocking any airflow.

I’d like to know that too. I expected the carbon to be caked on all of them, and some of them don’t seem to have any buildup.I guess I'm used to those ports being shiney clean. But that doesn't look good to be.
So how bad is bad enough to cause performance or mileage issues?

Unfortunately in DI engines his and my pics are just par for the course. Thus, why catch cans are so important to try to mitigate this as much as possible and despite what anyone says, why auxiliary port injection was added to ecoboosts.I guess I'm used to those ports being shiney clean. But that doesn't look good to be.
