Valve cleaning...

I ran the EBC rotors and brake pads on mine and it was almost too much. I really wish ford had made the SHO part of the ST lineup.

You did great at making it what it should have been without going too far and hacking it up.

I want bigger rotors and calipers at least on the front, after having brake fade at 120mph at the track I would really like something that can dissipate heat..

I made a friend who is an AutoX instructor at Summit who used to own an SHO who is willing to give me a good deal on lessons. But with these brakes... man I dunno.... wishing I hadn’t sold the FiST ha!

Personally hacking up a 4 door sedan as well equipped as the SHO didn’t make sense to me. An 11 second family sedan that massages my ass and keeps it cool is awesome enough.

Which EBC setup did you have?

Exactly man! Its a sedan for road trips and stop light brawls. I had the ebc slotted rotors and the yellow stuff pads.

Of course your build inspired me! I wasn’t asked what inspired me to build my SHO the way it is. I just stated my intentions with my 2016 build.

Your SHO is truly unique and I am damn excited to see what happens when it gets put back together.

The wilwood kit by TCE is just stupid pricey... I’m still on the fence with it. A Mustang with the PP1 already comes with bigger brakes though...

When I first read your posts you seemed like a 1vendor fan boy and I've never been flashy as far as mods go. I'm an all black on black with black tint and blacked out chrome kinda guy. I'd use nightvision and infrared to drive without lights at night kinda guy.

I do admire your dedication and persistence though. I'm following your current build closely.

@SBS..... appreciate it bro. Yes the Wilwood's are stupid pricey. But hot damn they sure as **** work! Each time. Every time.

@ H.O.E. I sure did buy into that company's media hype, now didn't I? That Kool-aid soured quickly. LOL.

That said, and in my defense, I didn't use them exclusively now. Which in retrospect, kind of makes me happy knowing I didn't funnel all of my mod $$$ towards them.

Whew. That likely irritated the bejeezus out of DM. Hahahaha. Even better!

I am confident I've done my best in an about face to admit my (loyalty) sins and make amends. Well, least I've tried

What is the process to clean the valves on the sho? Has anyone posted a video specifically detailing nuances with the twin-turbo EcoBoost?

Any concerns with the crap it loosens up, messing with the spark plugs or converters, or getting stuck on the valve seat or anything?

I mean you could put a "cleaning set" of plugs in, then change then back when done.... But no other concerns?

Jeez. If my car is anywhere near that bad, I need to get on this as soon as my car is back from the shop. It's never had a catch can or been cleaned before. From the look of that video, the walnuts didn't do as much as the manual cleaning did. Could there be buildup on the turbos too?

I just ordered a borescope camera to take a look.

That’s what I was finding too. A video that says ford doesn’t recommend the chemical cleaners, and the chemical cleaner companies saying that ford is wrong, buy our products.

As I’m watching the video of the BMW walnut shell blasting, it looks like the valves are all accessible on the same side after removing a few components. I assume that’s not the case on the SHO?

I would say ours is actually more accessible. This is a view with the manifold off while installing the x35 spacer.

This is perfect! I made a similar offer, waiting to see if it's accepted. I DID find what looks to be exact same thing (pics and all), at weddingsp.com. An odd name, but they're selling them for $15.

Since you're in a position to do this before I'm able to, I'm VERY curious as to your thoughts on the quality of not only the part, but of the end result in the cleanliness of the valves.
