This is perfect! I made a similar offer, waiting to see if it's accepted. I DID find what looks to be exact same thing (pics and all), at weddingsp.com. An odd name, but they're selling them for $15.

Since you're in a position to do this before I'm able to, I'm VERY curious as to your thoughts on the quality of not only the part, but of the end result in the cleanliness of the valves.

Will definitely be posting results and an Eco Specific writeup. Just waiting for my manifold to come back from porting and powdercoating then I'll start yanking it.

I offered $20 a few minutes after you posted last night, and they accepted this morning. My car should be back next week, and I'll post a picture of what I find with the borescope. I'll be waiting for your post before actually doing it myself. In the meantime, I'll be building up the courage to drill a hole in my PTU. A part of me is still hoping that I can convince the dealership to suction the old gear oil out of the fill plug while they have the engine out.

Well, my car is at 141k. The first owner did 80k of highway driving, and I've done 60k of city driving. I'll post a picture when I get my car back next week. I'm guessing that you might have perfectly clean valves and it would be a good time for a catch can.

I'm also not qualified to answer that question.

That's more or less my thought too. The one thing stopping me from doing it myself is that I have no idea how I'd crank the engine to change the valve placement.

I have no idea, either. My buddy's guy hotwired the starter and bumped it into position. He's telling me every 50K it needs done so I hope this is easy.

Nice, I see what you did there. You want to do use that process when the car is acting squirrelly.

Yep you bump the starter. You can buy a gun for it for $20 or just do the screwdriver method

No. but that would not be illogical. the more I read about most chemical cleaners introduced into the system the less comfortable I am about it generally.

I reached out to the seller. His son accidentally sent the wrong unit out.

He is sending the correct adapter, so no harm done!
