What is the purpose of the vacuum hose pointed to in this picture - http://www.angelfire.com/mt/viper1313/hose.jpg (you have to copy the image location into the bar of your browser) ? Is there an online diagram showing the SHO's vacuum hose layout? Where could I purchase a new hose to replace the one in the picture (there seems to be a sensor connected to the middle of the hose)? Thank you.

That is a vacuum line that goes to you fuel vapor canister located in your drivers side fenderwell. There is a solenoid valve that will open and close allowing the stored vapors to be pulled out and consumed by the engine. IIRC there is also a small vacuum line that tees off it and runs along the bottom of the radiator.

As stated before, but the line runs only to the canister purge solenoid valve and then on to the charcoal purge canister. There is no other line teed from this hose in the 3.0L application and most likely from the 3.2L case either since this is part of the closed fuel system.

This line is a great source for a hard to find vacuum leak. The line tends to get brittle and crack down by the CANP soleniod valve.

Scott, my '94 MTX EVAP setup actually kinda sounds more like Paul's description. The hose in the picture runs to the canister purge valve/solenoid (has it's own harness connecter) and then from there it runs to a T-fitting. There is a hose coming off one side of the T-fitting fitting that goes to the charcoal cannister. The other side of the fitting has a hose coming off of it that runs underneath the radiator, comes up the other side and then disappears under the battery, then (maybe) heading toward toward the rear of the vehicle and what my best guess says is some kind of fuel tank venting system.

I'm not exactly sure about the last part (as to where the other hose actually leads and why), but of the T-fitting, I am certain. :type:

Well, mine is cracked and leaking up by the manifold itself. Is there a replacement line with the solenoid attached that you can buy somewhere? Can you just get generic line and graft the solenoid valve into it? Thanks.

Just use bulk hose. The small line teed off the hose between the solenoid and the canister is the fuel tank vapor recovery line. This may not be on pre-'93 cars. Only cars with the sealed gas caps. Don't really know what year that started.
