I've heard about it happening, and it kind of makes me scared to ever buy a Gen III. But is this eventually a possibility with ALL Gen IIIs, or just a random freak thing? Because I love the sound of the V8 and they just look so damn good, and I would love to have one.

Could someone walk me through WHY and HOW this cam failure problem occurs? :nut:

We knew about the GenIII cam problem's before we bought mine. If your really thinking you want one buy one from someone who can issue receipts proving the cam's have been welded or be prepared to spend at least another $500 getting them welded. I had mine done by Doug Lewis ( he welded them all the way around not just in spots)

I'm sure someone on here can tell you exactly why it happen's I don't know but I've heard ppl say it WILL happen just a matter of time. Could happen at 20k or 120k. Check V8SHO.com too and search they will have good information.

Most of all don't let it scare you into not buying one, it is a SHO something is gonna go wrong.

if you haven't already click my sig and listen to my V8!!!!

Go to V8SHO.com & all your questions shall be answered. If you love the car you will have it welded, if not already done when purchased. Consider it a maintenance cost.

I used V8SHO.com to guide me in the decision making process. I went ahead and purchased knowing about the cam issue. I would just budget the cost of a weld into the purchase.

Or find a "deal", have NESHO weld it, then get the tranny rebuilt too many times :laugh_ti:
