Thinking about trading in my 2000 Lincoln LSv8 for a SHO. I can get an new 2011 loaded (402A etc except perf package) with an xplan for about $39,500. Wondering about fair prices for used 2010 SHOs. Only put about 5,000 miles a year on a car so not like I will wear out a used SHO anytime soon. At my in-laws for Christmas an noticed a couple SHOs here with anywhere from 4,000 miles ($35,000) up to 30,000 miles ($29,500). All these SHOs have 402a package. Thinking used SHO with extended warranty might be the way to go for me. Any thoughts/experience with used SHO prices? Thanks and Merry Christmas!

:thankyou:

Not sure on trade value yet. Will go to dealer when they open after Christmas. NADA value for mine on trade is about $5,000.

I'd think you could get a 2011 402A for $2K less without the PP. You should also get free standard maintenance for two years. I ordered mine at the end of Sept. and took delivery 6 weeks later. Lovin' it except for the muffled stereo. Extended warranty would be a good idea if you plan on keeping the car a long time. Of course you can always cancel it and get a pro rated refund depending on mileage if you decide to sell the car.

If you go the used route be warned you may or may not have issues such as grinding brake pads, peeling chrome trim and transmission shifting smoothness to name a few, all of which are suppose to be repaired by an authorized dealer per any TSB's.

Either way you'll have an awesome ride to enjoy!

I would buy used with the extended warranty. You just lose so much after driving a new car off the lot that with the money you save you can put back into the bank or into aftermarket parts for the car if you desire on a pre owned one.

I did go with the 2010 SHO. It was driven by a Ford rep and was way cheaper than a new one even with xplan. I have time to determine the duration/mileage combination I want for the extended warranty. Thanks.
