I got to thinking but has anyone tried enabling DRLs via Forscan? I understand that the HIDs aren't made for half power during the day. My next question could i enable DRLs using the front turn signal/parking lamps on at full brightness?

I've seen amber DRLs on a white ford explorer & a black lincoln MKS.
I have yet to see a taurus with amber front DRLs. I've seen lesser models below the SHO models have the headlights on at reduced output as an option from the factory. I understand that in doing so it has to be enabled through Forscan via a laptop and OBDII port. I figured amber DRLs are better than the halogen lights lit up during the day. On a darker car it makes it menacing looking.

Only a Taurus with halogen headlight can use the headlight as a DRL. Yes, there is an option in FORScan to set the DRL to the turn signal bulb.
Ah gotcha! That answers my question. Was something out of the blue I thought of and was wondering. I've seen a few around here that have them and like I said at least one black lincoln MKS with the front amber parking lamps on full brightness. HIDs are nice but ford should have stuck with ol fashioned halogen bulbs for the headlights. Much cheaper vs HIDs brand new. I found a loophole online I can get a set of brand new HID bulbs for roughly $70 for a pair. Forget the autoparts stores for those. $200 a pop? No way Jose!
