I am starting on a new project putting a SHO motor into another vehicle. This vehicle is going to have manual steering and no a/c so I want to run one belt. Naturally 3.2 accessories came to mind. I've searched and most things that came up when i searched was 3.2 swaps and people ditch the 3.2 acc for 3.0, I basically want to do the reverse i have a 3.0 block and want 3.2 accessories. So my question is do i need the 3.2 cast accessory brackets to run the the tensioner and alternator? I know the water pumps are the same and that just the pulley is different so get a pulley and I am set there.

Yes, the cast iron accessory brackets and accessories from a 3.2 are most of what you need. I think there may be a mount point on one head that you may need to tap.

This does not match my experience - when I put a 3.2 w/ mtx accessories, we had to swap the water pump to get the pulleys to line up.

All good information, thank you everyone. I might just have to stick with the 3.0L accessories at first, just put a brand new water pump on this motor.

I can tell u with 100% certainty the water pumps are different between a 3.0 and 3.2

the pulleys won't line up casuing you to blow belts, and its missing a hole for the tensioner bolt to go through, so I think you can't use the upper left tensioner bolt with a 3.2 water pump.....

You'll want the 3.2 front mount, too...or at least the top half...and the bracket for the AC needs to be from a 3.2 also, I think.

So since most of your questions have been answered...

I'll ask: What vehicle is the motor going into!!??

I plan on posting a thread soon, i just went to pick up the vehicle two weeks ago. I wanted to get some substanstial progress first. I'll give you a hint though its going to be about 800 lbs lighter than a taurus with two less seats or three less i guess really.

Yea i was thinking about finding some brackets and cutting them up to use what was necessary but that was when i thought the water pumps were the same. I guess that might end up being an evolution of the vehicle but for now ill get it running on the 3.0L acc.
