Anyone have any tunes from 5 star tuning?
I have a 2010 and have just purchased 4 tunes and am curious if anyone had any issues especially with acceleration
Like i am.

My car shifts way better and that's about it.
I have Billet wheels on my turbos and catless down pipes.
My car ran just fine without any tune snd even better with my SCT X4 canned tunes.

I always felt that my SHO lacked a little take off from day 1 of ownership.
The whole reason i got the tunes were to take advantage of my few little mods .but it seems to do the complete opposite.
Other than a very huge improvement in shifting itd a dog now with or without my 3 bar map sensor installed.
I do have tunes for both the 3 bar snd factory map.
No other problems with it other than no get up n go especially from a dead stop.
My wifes 1994 dodge caravan has more power from a stop.
Boy am i bummed about it..

You should honestly bring up the concerns with your tuner.

In short, if it ran fine before the tune and has a problem after the tune then you need to talk to the tuner. While we can take educated guesses, the only one who can make a change is your tuner. There are not a lot of guys on here who run 5 Star.

Yeah i actually got a call from them today.
They are working on fixing the problem.
I'm actually surprised that they are working on it so fast.
I chose them because my brother has a 13 SHO pp that is 5 star tuned and is a straight up rocket on wheels.
He has other tunes and he claims 5 star is by far the best.
I talk to a few other EcoBoost F150 guys who claim the same .
So hopefully the people at 5 star make it right.
Thanks for the feedback.

Maybe they just do not have enough experience with the 2010-12 PCM? The PCM had significant programming and encoding changes in 2013. 5 star tuning is generally who you go to for tuning your F150, not your SHO. Hope they can get the "rocket" part figured out, maybe they were just being cautious. This happens with every tuner going through a learning and data collection phase.

Take this for what it is worth: The last time I had my Livernois tuned MKS at the Brainerd Drag strip, there was another MKS there with a 5 star tune. While I was running 12.7s, he was running 13.2s. To be fair, however, I have seen 5 star tuned F150s run VERY strong. Maybe things have changed but I am not sure 5 Star has the transverse ecoboost 3.5 completely figured out.

My brother SHO runs steady low 12's
And has yet to be out ran by any other EcoBoost anything at least at Milan drag way in MI.
I have all the same mods as his 2013 but i have the billet wheels while he is on stock turbos.
As for my tuning
They are working on it with me.
Hopefully they figure it out.
If they get it close to how my bro's is i will be very happy.
There customer service is very very good and I'mma hang in there with them for a while longer before I move on.
If i do move on the next I'll try is Torri from
I literally live 10 minutes from Livernois but i already had my X4 .
Livernois will only make tunes if you buy their device first.
I'm not willing to do that at this time
I was told that 5 Star works with other very popular tuners and I believe that is what they are doing in my case.
It was mentioned to me that my CR PERFORMANCE BILLET COMPRESSOR WHEELS could be the issue as they have never tuned a car with em.
Ive also spoke to several other companies that all said they have no experience with the billet wheels.
I also don't know of any other person that has them on their EcoBoost either so knowledge about them is scarce.
All tuners want s extra $100 because i have the billet wheels. (literally)
Snd say it will require extra datalog time to dial it in .

I know MrHighCaliber has the billet wheels and LMS won’t tune for them unless he is willing to pay for a dyno session...

Glad they are working with you, and I hope you reach your goal!

As far as other tuners wanting extra money, I’m not surprised. Those wheels change the whole dynamic of the tune, so they would need to start from scratch with a very base tune. Then probably quite a few revisions to figure out and finally get a good safe tune with them. That’s a lot of work!

Most SCT tuners have a pretty good idea how a car is going to respond with most mods, but if it’s something they have never done like different turbos then they don’t really know. Better to start small than throw the kitchen sink at it and blow it up...

That's good to know that I'm not the only one running them.
My car does run great with them on the factory tune.
I wonder what his experience with them are and if he ever got them dialed in by LMS ? If so maybe ill just buy the tuner and tunes from them after all.

Just talked to him two days ago. At that time he had not gotten a tune from LMS for them. He is also running meth.

The billet wheels
Down pipes
Trans go zip kit & updated valve body
Meth (stage 3) installing as we speak.
X pipe 3rd cat delete
Flownmaster mufflers
3 bar map ( recently acquired )
brakes installed less than 2 hrs ago.
(rock auto power stop complete front and rear including drilled and slotted rotors) , huge difference in braking ... IMO ....
Springs (1 inch lower)
Oops I forgot my brother has some different waist gates. I believe turbo smart but could be mistaken.
I don't have those things yet oops.

And the X4 tuner that's still being dialed in.
I was told it will be a bit tougher to do because of my CR PERFORMANCE BILLET COMPRESSOR WHEELS.
especially without some Dyno pulls.
Maybe ill just take my paid vacation and drive to 5 star just for that or possibly just put the x4 on a shelf and go to livernois which is only about 10 mins from my driveway pick up there Tunning device and let them have at it..
With my meth kit going in right now should that help a bit for any fueling issues i may or may not have???
I do not have a cold air intake should I get 1?
If so what brand is most recommended?
And what 1 to avoid?

Were you trying upload the full size picture, or thumbnail?

Thumbnail is fine, users just click it view the whole image

There is a size limit on files I think about 3 MB? You might want to upload to imgur (filesharing site) and post the link here instead.

I bet the difference in price between dyno tuning with buying a device from LMS and 5 Star would be made up by what it would cost you to make the trip to SC and back. Nothing against 5 Star but but I wouldn't consider them for a SHO. I do think LMS knows these cars better and definitely a plus to have the shop 10 minutes as opposed to hundreds of miles away from you.

Honestly, it wouldn't even be a question in my mind if I were in your position and I would head directly to LMS.

LMS is arguably the leading authority in EcoBoost performance and have an extensive track record to support it.

Now, some tuner MIGHT be able to out perform them...on a track. However, the longevity of the vehicle comes into question. LMS very safely tunes their vehicles for both maximum performance and reliability. They put more than enough on the table while still leaving an ample amount for left overs.

So perhaps 5 Star might win at the track on Sunday, but would that be the same outcome 20k or 30k miles later?

I won't discredit a tuner, but at the same time I can speak from experience. My former 11' SHO with LMS supplied goodies and tune, is still running comparable times...110,000 miles later.
