I was thinking of trying GH even though the performance is similar to LMS just to feel the better shifting everyone lauds. I don't think I want to give up S mode though. It's fun to drive in it.
I haven't had any issues in S but use it less than stock or when I was running LMS tune. I commute in traffic and used to run in S with LMS as throttle response in D was still lazy in stop and go and I would have to give to much input to get it to downshift and move. Matt's tune shifts smoother but it quick to downshift and I don't feel like I have to prod the car to go as much in part throttle.

So
You can still use sport mode. It is just more aggressive than stock sport mode.

Thank you. That's good to know S is working like in LMS. Can I still turn off all of the nannies in this PP car in S ?

Yes, just hold down the traction button with your foot on the brake for 5 seconds. It will flash on the left screen of the dash "Advancetrac Off". You are then nanny free.

Great. I guess just a few of the FB folks were having issues with S and it wasn't a systemic issue. Kind of like the LMS v11 problems on some cars.

Haha. It's pretty vacuous for sure. I like seeing some of the car pics but only one out of a hundred posts actually contain anything informative. This forum has been a huge help to me.

I haven't heard of any shifting issues with Matt's tunes outside of FB. LMS on the other hand I would call systemic, many people across FB, and forums. And some probably ignored it until they started seeing it posted all over. I lived with the 1-2 shift issue for a while and just turned TC off before driving hard. It wasn't until it blew up I started thinking twice about the cold weather issues and since I couldn't log with their ancient looking tuning device I bought an SCT device and first log fuel pressure dropped to 800PSI with NO missed shifts or any surging other oddities that would cause alarm. GH tune was more than double fuel pressure in the same conditions.

Its hard to say how pervasive it was. Mine did it for a while in cold weather then the problem just disappeared after a couple hundred miles. I would have thought there would have been a lot more screeching than there was but maybe people never upgraded to v11 or as you say we're oblivious.

Besides the 1-2 shift issue which wasn't just a cold weather issue the cold brought out 2-3 shift and surging/drivebility issues I'm referring too. There are a number of threads with a number of people complaining. I was NOT having 2-3 shift issue and other issues people were complaining about. I had a slight surging under load one time that I probably would have ignored since it didn't repeat itself if it weren't for the reports from others. I wouldn't call it oblivious, ignorant maybe, but if a group started having issues these issues without datalogging how many others had fuel pressure issues without knowing. As I have said my car had no signs of any issues while being logged but 800PSI is dangerously low. My only other tuner experience with this platform is with GH and Matt's tune had double the rail pressure in the same conditions.

It's like the wheels are coming off of the LMS bus without a cogent rebuttal from them. Seems like this platform is no longer a profit centre for them.

I said that a couple of months ago, and they refuted it.

However, they have not publicly stated what the issue was and what they did to fix it. There are a couple of other tuners that have publicly questioned LMS's logic about certain things and LMS has dropped the ball IMO on the explanation.

Like I said, I would not let them tune my non existent lawn mower.

As for plug and play tunes, the Auto Octane Tune from GH is a 100% viable replacement which is safer and more flexible, while delivering the same if not more power.

Lord knows I tried to let LMS know about the issue before it blew up... I sent them logs, called, etc... I was summarily ignored and told to buy more parts.

It wasn’t until this all blew up and me backing out of paying for turbo upgrades at LMS that I received a call from Andy who is second in command behind Dan to discuss....

I and BPD1151 even brokered a conversation between Gearhead and LMS to help out...

Unfortunately this platform is not a priority for LMS and even worse now that Ford is killing the platform...

It’s clearly a money game to them and this platform is becoming a sunk cost compared to the other platforms they are making money on.
