That thing sounds like crap when it is just at idle, but listen when it is revved up right at the end of the video, is it smoothing out right then or is all that noise hiding the fact that the engine is kaput? The engine really shakes alot also, like it needs new mounts.

Nope....and I probably won't, either, unless he sells it for $500. Then I'll have a parts car..

Right. I was curious if you told him "nah" or not.

Marty- we thought it was doing that too, but I think it's a product of balancing and noise. I think she's toast. Only odd thing is that he said compression was good. I don't know if he tested them or not, I doubt he tested the rears, so the spun cam is most likely in the back? Just trying to learn...

Nice video.... for a second there I thought it was the intro to Van Halen's "Hot For Teacher".

I'd give $500 for it... any more than that; getting, welding, and installing another engine would eat up the balance of the blue book value.

I totally agree. The interior wasn't even in the greatest shape, either. I doubt that the guage cluster is stock....
