trouble starting

It doesnt really make sense that opening the throttle alleviates the problem if it is indeed the CID (cam sensor).

Does the car have any other driveability problems aside from starting?

that fixed it.

I picked one up from O'Rilley's today. The description on the box said crank position sensor, but it was in fact thecam position sensor.

It was a breeze to put on. I just removed the 2 nuts holding the power steering pump on, moved it out of the way, and swapped the part.
