I am getting mixed answers about replacing the tranny in my car. Everyone is telling me to do it a different way. It is a 91 mtx. Could someone possibly explain to me the best way to tackle this? Any input would be very appreciated.
Thanks

Well either way you do it, its not going to be fun. You can pull the motor and tranny together, or, you can drop the subframe and then drop the tranny. I suggest you get the helms book for this, if you are not experienced. When you drop the tranny through the bottom, you will have to support the motor from the top.

Good luck

has sdpatt explained how he made that wood engine support. It looks like it would help a lot if I could make one. Do you know of any other ways to hold up the engine when removing the tranny?

I will try to get the dimensions and parts for the engine support today if I get a chance. You really should get the SHO NUT video and procedure for the transaxle swap or clutch service. I highly recommend it.
