Black1271 and I went to the track last night here in Orlando to see what the SHO's can do. Here is the details:

1st Pass:
Black1271 Car#:1391 - Livernois Stage 4, Modified Airbox / Intake
RedCandySHO Car#:1234 - Livernois Stage 3 No TQ Management, Airaid CAI

Pass1.jpg

3rd Pass:
Black1271 Car#:1391 - Livernois Stage 4, Modified Airbox / Intake
RedCandySHO Car#:1234 - Livernois Stage 4, Airaid CAI

Pass3.jpg

I launched at 2K both runs. I tried a run with a 3k launch and it just spun bad. I am sure Black1271 will chime in on what he launched at, I cannot remember his RPM's.
It was fairly cool, but damp also, so maybe it just needs some better air. Add to that, we drove 30 minutes and went right into the lanes. Very little cool down time between runs.

How are you guys getting into the 12's?

I'm surprised your times weren't better.

When I went to Bradenton in Dec, when it opened late because of FOG, I had a 13.44 at almost 102 with my Brick. That run was also under 2.o for 60 ft. Was running Torrie's top tune.

I did about 15 runs in less than 2 hrs, due to low turnout. Most were under 13.6 and almost all were over 100., with best top end run of over 102 .

I had traction issues when starting over 1,600 rpm, though in fairness to that, the rpm's may have been higher, as I may have mashed the throttle before lifting the brake. Also had tire pressures too high for track conditions.

Since Bradenton is about 2 hrs for you two, and the same for me, maybe we could meet some Thurs nite, or Sat. Morning.

Have a friend with a G8 GT with Vector Tune and RotoFab CAI for you to challenge. He was turning 13.2's that day. His starts were from around 1,000 RPM's as he had traction issues over that.

Would be great FUN!

Ya, I think both of us were disappointed in the times. Only got in 3 runs. Was busy (at least to me), but also a lot of shut downs due to people breaking stuff...

Would love to come over to Bradenton for some fun.

Hmmmm...those 60fts aren't great. I'm consistently at 1.80 but your speeds aren't that great either. What was humidity? Also the cars definately need cool down time. They run really hot.

Do either of you have the performance package? I thought most who had it were running 1.7-1.8 60ft's.

Mine is a Canadian car, so I don't think it has the perf package. Unsure about Black1271's car....I assume his does.

As Darrell mentioned, these cars need to cool off. They also heat up very quickly. I know the best ET's in our car were after it cooled off for a few hours then we got right up and made a pass.

My top runs were both the first run on my two trips to the strip. I ran multiple passes, one after the other, and found that they again were consistent, but off from the first. I watch my temps on Dashhawk, and my water temps weren't rising all that much, and on cool-down while going directly back to start line, my water temps got as low as 181. They peak at around 195 during the actual 1/4 mi pass. This is with a 170 deg. T-stat however. My top speed best was midway thru my 15 or so runs.

Sorry im late on this, I've been busy with work over this weekend so I haven't been able to get on.
The first pass I launched at 2k and the third pass was at 2500. I don't have the performance package either. I managed to make it to a dyno day on Saturday and the numbers were not quite as high as expected from baseline to tuned. Will try and scan the printout and put in a thread to see what you all think.

Sounds fun to me!! Let me know when, work is crazy this month so either Saturday's or next month for Fridays would be awesome.

I really think the perf package makes a big difference on these cars. However with that aside I think the humidity is the culprit on the slower times. Run them again on a different day and and see what happens. You should also try the stock tune for a comparison.

I am sure we will give it another shot. Not having the Perf package might explain a little also. Think we might head over to Bradenton one night to make some passes with EcoBrick Bob & friends...

Would like to get Ricks / Darrell's feedback on your dyno sheet. The number seem low compared to what others have dyno'd at. Might just be that humidity thing again though....Saturday was pretty warm out, then the rain hit....

I'd like to see the graph. What kind of dyno was it?

This is the graph from our non-performance package car with the stage 2 tune which ran 12.98 @ 105 mph.

Livernoissho 1 1

If I recall, Darrell's car made about 10 more HP/TQ with the stage 3 tune, CAI, and Corsa.

Rick,
I was wondering if you were running the stock intake and exhaust. If so is Darreli's mods only worth about 10 horses? We all appreciate you sharing info about your cars.
thanks Jerry
