Ok, I'm having a problem finding touch up paint for my 95 MTX. A friend of mine, who knows Shos' told me it's Crimson Red, and the code on the door is FC4. But even my local ford dealer can't find paint for it and told me it's sunrise red. I don't think so!!
Does anyone know where I can find info to find the right shade?
I've looked in the auto parts books at the local auto parts shops and they don't even list it.
Any suggestions would help.
Thanks,

Go by the paint code. The Crimson Red is one of the names for the paint color. In the books, it is just a "common name". It has another name for it(can't remember the name). I had this same problem almost a year ago. I bought what the paint code indicated.

Good luck!

I found touch up paint for my SHO at autozone. Maybe you should try there shrug
Not for our color... you have to pretty much go to Ford. I have looked and looked.. many stores, in many different states.

You don't have to go to Ford. There are places that mix any color for bodyshops and regular customers. You can get it in a spray can or touch up bottle. Some places even analyze the fuel filler door to perfectly match up the new paint to your car's paint.

Thanks for the feedback, but I did try autozone and the color that they had in the book didn't match, code wise, nor did it match the color of the car.
I've tried Autozone, Symth still no luck...actually found the code that Ford for the touch up at Meijers, but it doesn't match.

Just go to an automotive paint store and have them color match it. The one I go to has a hand held scanner and can match it anywhere on the car. Since you are not spraying it you can get a pint of inexpensive paint and use it right out of the can with a toothpic if you are doing stone chips. That usually costs me around $8 to $13 for pint.
