Looking for a shop in the Las Vegas area that someone may know of that has experience working on Gen 1 or 2 SHO’s. Want a top and front 60k done and am assuming that any regular shop may not be able to handle? Any recommendations or referrals are appreciated.

I could be wrong, let me know if just a normal reputable shop can do this or if I should be doing this myself? How long would this take a relatively competent weekend car guy to do? Done a lot of work myself to fox body mustangs like clutches and bolt on mods but never worked with timing belts etc.

I'd definitely schedule a weekend for your first one. But a reputable shop should be able to handle it if you let them know what it is and that it might be a bit different than normal service on a car.

Can you get to TX? Texan Tony might be a possibility? IDK if Scott Patterson has time :)

A member on this forum - Devin - had a website with a map of repair facilitie located across North America.

If the website is not active, he will still have the info, and he is located in the Pacific NW, so he may even have personal insight regarding your area.

After reading reply’s and doing some research I’m gonna knock it over a weekend. Appreciate the feedback

If it's not a daily then for sure give it a go. Just be very careful with the bolts on the intake and valve covers. The aluminum is very soft and will shear the bolts or strip the threaded holes with too much torque. You have to snug stuff up without over tightening. Take your time and label/baggie stuff so you can keep from forgetting what goes where.
