I'm going to call tokico and ask how many total number of struts were made for the taurus. I have parted out and seen about 50 sho's and 100 standard taurus/sable and have only come across 2 cars with these on. also don't know what year they sarted making these but there supposed to last at least 100,000 miles. unless they were very few made i believe there are still good sets of these still sitting on shelves somewhere collecting dust. what do you guys think? also what about doing a group buy . we could contact members from the tccoa also.

Do a search on this Forum.

They quit making them awhile ago, and there are probably ZERO sitting on a shelf anywhere, as folks have looked for them.

IMHO, they weren't that wonderful. 100K miles was a high-end lifespan.

The only choice for anything decent today are the Koni inserts.

Sell the Tokico's. They're not worth installing. I had one go bad after less than 10k miles. I've worked on four other cars with Tokicos and had one or two bad struts per car. When a Koni goes bad it spews oil everywhere. The only way to tell if a Tokico goes bad is to tear the whole thing apart, especially if you are running a stiff spring like Eibach.

Good luck.

Don't be surprised when they say "huh?" or just hang up on you.

Eibachs are not thatstiff.

I've had my Tokicos in since early 2004. And only recently, I have reason to believe that my left rear is leaking(visable leak). However, the others are still nice and fresh.

Koni's are a great replacement though.
