timing guides

well all i have almost got this car back from the dead with some help i have found gaskets and cams welded etc just waiting on my cams. but i have a timing gudie that is lose it is the upper intake side of the right head. and was wondering if anyone had one they are willing part with ? if not i was thinking on drilling a hole through the plastic in to the metal bracket and recessing the screw below.

I am rebuilding my SHO from a recent cam failure and I had the same problem, the little rivet looking thing that holds the plastic on was broken. I ordered a new one from the dealer, not worth it comming apart and screwing things up again. They had it in stock and it was like $39 or something like that.

well i checked the dealer and they said it was no longer avaible. and now i wonder what are we to do ?

What? I think they are just trying to get rid of you. I got one last week, no problem. The only seal that you might have a problem with is the seal that goes around the cam by the water pump. There was only one in stock it all of Ford Motor Company, I have been waiting three weeks for it; they said it would be here on Mon. Do you have a part number?.

no i dont have a part number but they are the ones i am buying the gaskets from

My book has the part number as 6K297, but it is also the same for all the timing chain guides.... I may have one in my garage from my recent rebuild... I will check and get back to you... you are welcome to it if it's in my garage...
