Timing Belt Tensioner

Can anyone tell me where I can find new timing belt tensioners for 93 ATX.
Both of them have been discontinued through Ford and I can't find them anywhere..

Any suggestions?

They have? My local Ford dealer has them and they say they aren't discontinued or obsolete.

Try searching in California. SHOtimer has the part number for it, PM him. My local Ford place couldn't find it until I gave them the part number (thanks Doug).

There's only one tensioner for the timing belt, then you have 2 pulleys.

She probably means that there are 2 kinds. The wheel for the MTX, and the hydraulic for the ATX.

I was given a hard time until TYSHO gave me the exact part number. As soon as they had that they were mysteriously able to locate one. As a Ford employee it should cost you just over $100 as opposed to retail $168. I believe they don't care to really look for any SHO related parts anymore.

Part number for the actual tensioner: F3DZ-6L266-A

When they did the search the computer came up with 2 tensioners for the 3.2 that were both "obselete" to the parts guy. SHOgirl20, just make sure you use the part number listed above if it is the actual tensioner for the timing belt that is bad. You can always return it, however this saves a few days time.

Its 3.0 only. I don't believe they ever nailed down a 3.2 one.

Are you looking for the actual tensioner, F3DZ-6L266-A ?

If so, there's quite a few left. You can call any of the 4 numbers below. They show to each have one and are Ford dealers.

Are you sure that part # isn't for the timing CHAIN tensioners, the ones that sit in each of the heads?

Well I have one of each in their original boxes and here are the part numbers:

The timing BELT tensioner, the spring loaded device that sits at the front of the engine and applies pressure to the pivoting pulley: F3DZ-6L266-A

A timing CHAIN tensioner, of which there are two, is also spring and oil pressure loaded, and through a plastic rub strip applies pressure to the slack side of either cam chain: E9DZ-6K261-A

Please write these numbers down for future generations of SHO owners and archeologists.

well there's 2
in the computer they are left and right
one has bearing on it, and I found that one but there's another one that I cannot find. I was gonna have it replaced while I was replacing the other one but no one has it, I had to put used one and I hate used parts on my car.
i'll bring the part numbers tomorrow

I wouldn't make a post if I wasn't sure about the part number. I have the box in my back room from the one I installed for the timing belt.

If your still looking, check with Doug at FPS. I got mine a few months ago (for an MTX though)... he had quite a few brand new.
