No idea of the part number. But there are different suppliers for the replacement valve guides. Here's an example.

Thanks @Bluezone ill look into itMay I ask what the symptoms were that caused you to look for the broken guide?
-Rod
@Bluezone unfortunately the piece that sheered off is cast with our heads and it can not be repaired, so I just ordered another head today from Ford and all the fixings. Thanks @Bluezone ill look into it
@SHOrod my knock during acceleration would go right to 7.49… once I was done accelerating, it would go right back to 0, if accelerating gently, i could make the knock creep up slowly till i got to 7.49. I figured i needed to start tearing down untill I found the source, because it was to consistent, to be fake.
Probably bad from day 1, but with running E and spraying meth day in and day out, and the effect they have on aluminum, didnt do it any favors@Bluezone unfortunately the piece that sheered off is cast with our heads and it can not be repaired, so I just ordered another head today from Ford and all the fixings.
@Zpak i removed front bumper and radiator and kept the motor in place, not to bad that way actuallyDid you yank the motor or get that head off in the car? Firewall side really adds insult to injury.
Dont put methanol on titanium either. I accidentally did it at work once and it etched the **** out of a finished titanium part
methanol is abrasive to all metals, some more than others, how long was the meth on that part for? like seconds?Dont put methanol on titanium either. I accidentally did it at work once and it etched the **** out of a finished titanium part
Yea its literally all it takes. Was a while back. I had a can of alcohol and a can of methanol with a kimtech wipe and i wiped the part off after machining it to check surface finish with methanol on a just a precise tissue and it scored it maybe a thou or 3 deep from wiping it. was crazy. Accidentally used methanol instead of alcohol. Hopefully i was able to save it and remachine it while keeping within the perpendicular and parallel spec after indicating it back in. Dealing with different aerospace materials like inconel, titanium, hastaloy and monel on a daily its hard to make that mistake but it happensmethanol is abrasive to all metals, some more than others, how long was the meth on that part for? like seconds?
On inconel yes. Titanium is fairly easy once the speeds and feeds are correct. Almost machines like stainless. Now inconel, that stuff is a pain as it tool hardens quick and you gotta have it at a low rpm and excellent coolant quality. More goes into the cost of inconel parts. Like cost of inserts and slow cycle time. I mostly drill inconel. Coolant drops and it will melt a kennametal drill real quick. Happened to me a few times on cnc lathes when the coolant starts getting low and im playing on my phone instead of watching it.You must go through a lot of diamond inserts.
