well i get to do an alternator tomorrow mine went out on me on my way to work that was a fun experiance driving to work with no heat no lights or any power other than what i needed to get to work lol luckily the guy i bought the car from gave me the recipt for the lifetime warranty alternator that he put in it he just saved me 240 dollars

I figured out that the Gen 1 alternators are cheaper....around 100 bucks because they're a 90 amp. The Gen 2's upgraded to a 130amp so the price is almost $200 for those....any reason? Are there anymore electronics in a Gen 2 than a Gen I?

The last time i bought an alternator it was for my 93 mtx. It was 130 bucks, and its a 90 amp unit. The bigger ones came in the 94 and 95's and i have not had to buy one yet, so im not sure of the price difference.

There's also no selenoid on the gen1 starter as w/gen 2's, but 90amp went into '93 before rising in amps.

New alternator came in yesterday so I will be putting it in tonight hopefully if I get off work at a decent time im down in rochester now so I can give you that alternator back on friday matt or whenever works for you just shoot me a text thanks again for letting me use it
