I'll be there. No drags for me though, got a buddy coming into town that I haven't seen in a few years. Oh yeah, in cleaning out my garage (read: finding places to store subframe parts) I found a set of training manuals for rebuilding Ford auto transmissions. I'll bring them up and we can give them away as door prizes if anyone wants them.

So what time is all of this starting?

I was planning my usual late-morning arrival...

No Sir. I have a big grey Ford manual for my 92 that you are welcome to though, if you think it will help you. I'll bring it with when I come up.

I had a good time even though I didn't drive, haha. I'm glad Rav could drive his car faster than I could drive it! He's hooked...

Yeah, Rav looked like he was driving to work when he would pull up to the staging lights, be careful to not get any of that nasty track debris on his tires. :laugh_ti:

And Nick, did the most awesome burnouts of anybody there. Probably a good 35-40 seconds long. He created so much smoke, that the next set of racers had to wait a while. It was great. If he ever gets any traction and can keep his tranny from finding neutral so many times, he's going to be in the 12's for sure.

What a blast I had. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

That WAS fun and we should definitly do it again soon! I would have stayed longer but my good friend was in town and I had to go hang out. I wish I could have hooked a little better...15s are so V6 HAHAHA J/K!

Tom, awsome runs man! That thing could pop off 10s with some slicks I belive. 12s.....someday(when I have a mustang!). 14.5s are my N/A goal and low 13s with the turbo setup...someday:) Tranny is kind of at the top of the list right now.

Mike, way to shave the tenths man! On the street, I think your'e whip would give me a handfull.

Rav, I know you had a blast. That's fun stuff huh? What was your'e best time?

Gotta be one of the best gatherings so far. Reckon next time we get everyone to come out and flood the place with SHO's. Thanks to everyone for helping me out, didn't really have to much of an idea what I was doing.

Had so much of a blast that I completely forgot about getting out and taking some pics. Hope someone else got some.

Tom: Was just trying to concentrate not overshooting the staging lights. I couldn't work out were I was supposed to stage at. Next time I'll scream and shout sitting alone in the car and freak everyone out.

Joe: I let out a cheer when I beat the time that you posted. Yes, definitely hooked. Next time you're definitely racing.

Nick: Well all I can say is when the two Gen3's lined up.. I won!!!! Fastest time I got was a 15.7, though I think that if I turned the overdrive off I would have been down into the 15.6s.

Troy that 'vehicle' is mad, I want one of those too.

Mike & Bro (sorry real bad with names), thanks with the advice on staging and looking after my camera gear. Mike we need to get your brother a SHO and get him racing too.

Thanks everyone really had a good day.

Rav.

P.S. I reckon the clunk is worth at least a second so I must have been running 14.7!!

P.P.S. Of course I got lost on the way home and that was with the GPS. I decided I new a better route home than it did, of course I had to eat humble pie and turn it back on. Didn't get home till 12:45. Good job the drag strip is in a straight line!

 Wah. I didn't get to go.

Well, I did finish the seat installation as well as _some_ of the wiring I was doing.

Anybody need a grey cloth power driver's seat in good condition? Free to a good home...

Tom, those runs of yours were nuts! That must have been a blast.

Nick, maybe if I had exhaust, a chip, and es100's I would be in the 14's too!

Rav, glad you were able to beat the time I set in your car, haha great job man. How many timeslips do you have now? You were going in one big circle the whole night, never stopping. Lunatic... ;)

Mike, what did your best time end up being at the end of the night? What was your highest trap speed?

I actually ended up going home a different way than I always have too. I usually follow Grand all the way to the 101 and shoot down to the 10 and get off at Avondale. This time I went just past the 303 to get gas at Chevron then turned back and followed the 303 all the way down to the 10 and got off later on Avondale. I think it's a littler faster for anyone else from Avondale.

I thought someone got Nicks burnout on video. Post it up! It looked nasty with just the parking lights on too hehe. The announcer was great the whole night too.

I'm thinking that is a tough track. Very cold temps in the valley and we all had horrid times....well cept Tom. Full interior and 4 gallons of gas. Best time I could pull was 15.67. First run of course was a disasterous 17.90 with tires a smoking and a wonderous 1 - 2 miss shift. Sorry Joe, but the joke is on you cause you said I would lose to you and you didnt race...so plhhhhhhht. The rest was all in the launches which were really tough. Rxn times on mtx's are hard. I was on a downward trend the whole way though, 17.90, 16.60, 15.90, 15.75, 15.73, 15.67. By this time I was frustrated, but glad I hadn't busted anything...like Niks tranny. Oh and Nik, I got yer spy hunter impersonation on video as well as the comments from the announcer after your show: "well, there goes the 50,000 mile warranty on that guys tires" "Sure hope its not a rental". Oh and sorry, but I got Rav on vid kickin your yankee ****, though you had the fastest time of the night with a 15.3

The videos I have are sweet....though most are in Nightshot mode (my wife was aweseome in that she thought of turning it off but since I gave it to her in that mode she figured I wanted it that way). My bad. Vids are still great. I think the comments from the kids are better than the races themselves. The track announcer said "Here's a Porsche vs a Firebird" ....Rachel's comment was "Mommy, Did you hear that man said, Porsche (poorsha). That's a girls name Mommy". Then the car proceeds to trap at over 110.

My runs look great when I wasnt racing Tom. Seems every time someone was viding the race, the buggy was front and center. My car will be forever known as (oh you mean that white one that got smoked by that buggy?). Joshua and Rachel rooted for me anyways every time. "Oh, Daddy almost got him did you see that?" Cant hear crap in the vid when I'm racing that beast its so loud. Every time Tom came into the 12's all the announcer could say was "Well remember folks, there is almost no weight to that thing......yea like a 2000lb buggy is lighter than the motorcycle running 9's.

I have a nice vid of Rob and I going at it....sorry I beat ya man, We both had some good sounds going down the track though.

A very fun time had by all, we should do it again before the 100'*****.

15.06 was my best run(15.3 was the worst while getting my a$s kicked by the bandit['72 Pontiac T/A 455]) I think the 109oct was a bit slow to burn for the 103 tune as my car is hauli'n on the 91 mix that I'm having fun with for the next day and a half. The track was tough tho....one tire would always spin killing 1st. Usually Speedworld is known to be a fast track. Like I said, we should do it again only this time, I wont get lost. 14.5 here I come!! :D

100's....I think I'll chill out with a mist of 36% O2 mist by that time!

Joe, I seen the illest Infinity j30 today...TT 2jz(AT) with like 6 A-pillar gauges(did'nt ask) -hella tint and a nice boby kit....dude was serious. I wanted to check out your'e ride but forgot that there wher other cars other than SHOs that existed at the time:)
