Seeing some last a long time, and others not, there has to be some sort of quality-control issue. Too much/too little preload on a bearing, incorrect contact pattern on what looks like a pinion and ring setup, something.

The **** turning to sludge is a symptom of something going wrong.

That would be something. Ofcourse, my wife's 2013 SHO hit 120k last week. She so wanted a new SHO. But, since the block heads at Fomo did the dumbest thing they could ever do, I traded the sho on a new Genesis G70 3.3t rwd. I must say, it will flat run like a scalded dog. And luv the rwd!

Yes, but not a Taurus. Maybe a Thunderbird, with a smaller body, like the Fusion, and a 2-door option. And convertible...hard top. (I know I'm emulating my dream car, the Merc SL.)

Smaller...lighter...faster... (but NOT a MUSTANG.)

I loved my 06. You can swap an 8.8 ring and pinion in the stock diff or I have seen a few fab up 8.8 housings in them for limited slip.
