A thorough cleaning is the probably in order. If it is brake fluid, water should be effective. I personally would not use a high-pressure hose in the engine bay though.

Did you check your manifold or cats for residual chemicals?

Checked, no residual chemicals there. There is the unmistakable odor of insulation.

not easily. there are about 100 wires, cables, and lines that go through the firewall, and the insulation piece was on there before any of them were installed.
