Talk about a string of bad luck...
It was the day of my first autocross. Myself and a fellow SHO owner were in the same class and having a blast. We had a little trouble at first, but then got better at learning the course, getting a technique down, etc. It was a blast...until I hit the last u-turn in the course and blew the front brake line (steel braided cable!!!). I limped back to the exit and pulled over (to discover the torn brake line and the trail of brake fluid). I asked the other SHO onwer to give me a drive to the local AutoZone. We get to the parking lot...and his SHO has trouble. Hard to say whether it's a tranny/CV/clutch issue (the description is posted under the Engine and Chassis section for Gen I/II), but talk about irony!
I feel slightly guilty that my problem is a walk in the park compared to his...but hey, it happens.
Until I was DQed, I did have the 2nd place time though
