Tachometer doesn't work

Not sure if this is a electrical or engine topic so I'll put here and if its more engine could a mod move it to there. Anyways as the title says my tachometer does not work it any help with this would be appreciated

Does it have any other issues?, like shutting off randomly?, or poor performance? If so you could be looking at Cam sensor failure.

Nope it seems only the tachometer is a dead stick engine runs fine and no random shutting off

It's possible you would have to change the whole cluster.

Does your gas gauge and engine temp gauge work? Are your instrument (idiot lights) lights out? If these are additional symptoms you have but perhaps haven't noticed it's probably just the ground in the engine bay next to the air box. My car did that for awhile, after a few months I finally decided to fix it and discovered (got lucky) it was just not grounding well.

Speedometer works temp gauge and gas gauge works too. The idiot lights sometimes the airbag light comes on sometimes the low coolant does too yet I check and it full plus it does not over heat either Abs light is on too already know why though

Okay I got the tachometer working turns out the problem was the gauge needle was below the pin it rests on when the car is turned off a simple disassemble and a gentle lift to put the needle back above the pin fixed it! http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=235669126476904&comments but how does the engine sound to you guys? the quality may be a bit low though
