SYNC3 Update 3.0.1.18093

It’s also called JR3T-14G381-AM. Just tried this recently released update. Just wanted to give a heads up in case anyone else had the same issue. It would never install on its own. It kept saying I already had the latest update after the first reboot. I was at 18025 before.

I ended up rolling back to 2.2 with the “Sync3 NAV V1 TO V22” file I found a while back. After that, it updated to 18093 fine. So far it seems okay. I haven’t noticed the dimming bug, but haven’t really driven the car. Hope that’s fixed. It really drove me nuts.

Syncmyride.com. Create an account and you can update the c.i.p. for free and see if an update is available. You can only update the v.i.p. with a scan tool.

I updated with the factory scan tool sooo.

The dimming bug is still there. I installed this update on my sho and the wife’s Flex and the Sync 3 display in both stay on bright at night sometimes until you adjust the brightness yourself. It’s extremely frustrating that Ford can’t even bother to fix this well documented bug that I know for a fact they’re aware of. I’m really considering going back to version 2.2. It was the last firmware that didn’t have 100 bugs and supports everything but the Ford/Alexa app.

Really wish Ford would release the source code so we could fix this stuff ourselves since they obviously don’t care.

Thanks for updating us...both my SHO and my wifes 2016 F150 have the dimming bug. Drives me nuts too! But now at least I won't have to fool with trying this update LoL

I went from 1.0 to 3.01 after I bought my 2016 SHO a week and a half ago. Didn't realize there was a dimming bug until reading this thread. Now it makes sense. Maybe Ford sees it as an "enhancement."
