I have a 2010 SHO with sync 1 and while it works it is still pretty meh. I've seen some upgrade options other than it, but what all stops upgrading directly to sync 3? I know it also controls the HVAC system but I feel like it should be possible to either just ground it out or splice wires into the OEM harness. I plan on installing a subwoofer anyways so I figured I might get this done too while I'm at it. Any suggestions or tips would be appreciated as well!

I don’t know too much about it since I know there’s guys here who have done complete upgrades ( sync 2 to sync 3+ ) but what I can say is that You’ll need a newer head unit for sync 3 and up. They have different hardware. Sync 3 units have different screens etc. totally feasible if I understand correctly.

Sync 1 to Sync 3

May want to hold off a bit. They are working on Sync 4 upgrades. May be able to do a Sync1 to Sync 4 or you may be able to pick up Sync 3 stuff a lot cheaper.
