SYNC 3 Issues

Hey guys, so I updated my Sync 3 to the newest version that’s all blue and whatnot. It worked flawlessly for the first idk like 8-10 months. All of the sudden, it will not save any settings EXCEPT for sound settings like bass/treble etc. So for example, whenever I change my display to “night”mode and change the background, it will not save anymore. So when I turn the car off and then get back in it later on, it goes back to the ugly bright white display. On top of that, these notifications pop up EVERY TIME I hop into my car - like asking me about Sync updates and apply CarPlay etc. It is very annoying. I’ve already tried multiple times doing a master reset which does not work. Sometimes it will randomly remember my display settings but now it almost never does.

Has anyone experienced this? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

How did yiu upgrade it? Vendor sourced? Backstory? Use Forscan? Cyanlabs tool?

Followed a YouTube video and used CyanLabs. A lot of people have done it. Wondering if it’s the APIM going, which would be stupid since it’s a 2019 with 33k mileage.

Well if it wasn't checked it would of bricked. There is now protection to make sure I was reading. So did you upload the logs when completed? If so you can ask for assistance. Did you take a pic of before versions and now the current?

I had the same problem and it was driving me crazy. Plus GPS was not working sometimes. I changed the battery and everything was solved for a couple of months. Now the pop up screen for updates comes on every time I run the car again.

That makes a lot of sense. I was about to take a leap of faith and swap the APIM anyway. Now I definitely will do that. Those were exactly the weird things I had before changing the battery. Thank you for sharing.
