Granted this is in a 13 Flex, but I would assume the SHO's are a similar setup. I have all the stock speakers and stock subwoofer, but have upgraded the APIM to Sync 3 so I have Android Auto. I was wondering if anyone has been able to figure out a way to play video on the main screen yet. Thanks!

Yeah, I've been digging around on there. The biggest one I've been wanting to figure out is if I can do screen mirroring/video somehow, or if there's a wireless Android Auto setup available so I don't have to plug it into the USB everytime I wanna use it. My 22 XL F-150 is fully wireless.

I have not seen any wireless Android Auto on Sync 3. I think that was Sync 4. Some people have done a Sync 4 conversion with limited positive results. Certain features work and certain ones don't.

I think this is as close as they have got for a video player. It is not mirroring.

Yeah, I haven't seen any wireless Android Auto or screen mirroring yet either for Sync 3. I hadn't seen any Sync 4 conversions yet. I guess Sync 3 with a couple minor add-ons is really as good as it gets for us. lol

Sync 4 involves more communication with other modules and it also connects with the onboard wifi. Because some of these modules and messages are not present, it results in a half working system. If you really want mirroring, the best route would be an iDataLink Maestro RR2 and a compatible radio with the features you desire.

I've heard about the iDataLink Maestro, but I have yet to see anyone on the Flex forum or here that has it installed with a radio and actually showed a demo of it all working properly.

I have used it with a Saturn Vue and a Honda Insight with good results. The Harley guys are using it with a SoundStream radio with no problems. Check out the website and it will tell you what it will control. Their customer service is good as well. I will probably go that route eventually. i plan to put one in the Harley first and then the Taurus. I have a Maestro RR sitting in the garage. I just need a head unit. I will most likely upgrade to the RR2 by the time I get around to it.

I've read about it already, but just wanted to see someone who's specifically done it with our vehicle setup to demonstrate it. It's a lot of money to spend without really having any idea how it's going to look or work.
