I believe the best replacement is ASFBs or Gen 3 rear subframe bushings for all four corners of a Gen 2.

I should have known you would know better, you know you could have shown us all those pics and I wouldn't have hurt my back when I jumped up and yelled, " AHA! I got SHOBILL now". I retract my chastisement and beg your forgiveness.:hail:

And that crossover tube are belong to me; you know that, right?:dribble:

well, it was the IAC. Replaced that and it runs fine.

:woo-hoo:

I should do the bottom now, I would think those aren't much better than the valve covers were.

A fine job twitchblade on diagnose & fix!
-& the first pic I posted was a confirmation of what he said "twitchblade= i have the ground strap solidly connected without the support. you can connect the ground strap to any point on the engine that has a good contact to metal, not just that one point."
__but I guess it needed more explanation for some(lol)! glad you had my back Tom & glad I don't have yours now!

- No problem Tom, but us 'more mature' members have to stick together as the 'kids' are taking over! ;)

-Yes, again I know.:salute: & my thought on that was if I polish 1 piece & install it with the other stock pieces, that 'they' would want to be 'shiney too' & it would spread!:nut: LOL Looks like its working!

-& also to 'register with you' of all polished parts are belong to you: I do , finally, have one of those special ATX UTBC's! Its just too bad it got so beat up in its travels over the years! Just needs a fresh polish. Not to worry thou, it will be done! THANX!!

probably should replace the timing belt too, but it is good to know that these are non-interference engines so if it should break before i can get to it, all i have to do is slap a belt on it.broke a belt a couple of tome before, once on a bobcat (pinto) and once on a probe.

worst happening was when I was working on my tr7 and forgot to attach the timing chain to the cam and bent two valves.

speaking of tr7, i wonder if these engines will fit, would be a fun project.

my main worry is how tall are these engines. a tr7 has a slant 4 because the hood slopes so much, tho they did fit a v8 in there. a small v8 tho.

plus the radiator has no cap, the overflow bottle is pressurized.

the TR7 Radiator? I dont think anyone is holding a gun to your head and forcing you to use the TR7 set up.

if you attempt it take lots of pictures and post often.

The SHO V6 is pretty big, bigger than some V8s I'd imagine. I highly doubt it would fit.

Then again, nobody's holding a gun to your head and forcing you to use a hood... :naughty:
