Get some Nittos DRs! just don't expect them to last 20k miles.
Bwahahaha... Murph I replace tires like some people change antifreeze, once a year. Helps when one of local CSHOC members is a Discount Tire Manager. I have never gotten 20k miles out of any set of tires I've had on the SHO. The Nitto 555 Extremes I had before the Yokahama AVE ES100's went on the car are over a year old, but that's only because their mounted on another set of rims and hanging on the garage wall :nut:

I hear those electric superchargers for $90 on eBay are good for 50 to 100 HP boost, should I try one of those?

Any time you force more air into the motor (with fuel), you're going to get a bigger explosion in your cylinder. This causes the piston to be fired down harder which equates to more power.

Do you fully understand how and internal combustion engine works?

yamahaSHO i dont mean to correct you but there is no "explosion" in the combustion proccess... now if your detonating then yeah sure theres an explosion... but other wise when you burn the fuel/air you are just doing that "Burning it" its a controled burn"fire" and not an explosion :p explosions are what burst head gaskets and bend rods and melt pistons and valves... ok im done i just like everyone to have there facts straight. just tring to help out no harm intended man.

In the strictest terminology, combustion is a form of an explosion, in that there is a sudden increase of volume and energy.

I cut and pasted some info from an encyclopedia.

An explosion is a sudden increase in volume and release of energy in a violent manner, usually with the generation of high temperatures and the release of gases. An explosion causes pressure waves in the local medium in which it occurs. Explosions are categorized as deflagrations if these waves are subsonic and detonations if they are supersonic (shock waves).

In engineering terms, deflagrations are easier to control than detonations. Consequently, they are better suited when the goal is to move an object (a bullet in a gun, or a piston in an engine) with the force of the expanding gas. Typical examples of deflagrations are combustion of a gas-air mixture in a gas stove or a fuel-air mixture in an internal combustion engine.

So, strictly speaking, the combustion process of the fuel air mixture in an engine is a deflagration, which is one of the categories of explosions. It is simply a controlled explosion inside the cylider. It is when the explosion takes place at the wrong time that you have problems.

I'm just trying to "dumb it down". It is true that they are considered a controlled burn.... But any time you burn fuer/air hot and fast enough to force a piston downward, I'd say you can consider that and explosion. Yes, when you think of explosion you think of detonation... Although you're still just burning fuel/air

why? You argue with me all the time and I make a joke about you guys arguing over the tiniest insigificant detail and you get huffy? what a cry baby.

p.s. instead of making a public rant about my little joke you could've clicked on the "report bad post" button and done it silently. That would've been the mature thing to do. I'm surprised a former moderator wouldn't have thought of that. :hail:

Are you seriously asking why?

Why did I make it public??? To get a point across to you. Do not talk to me about mature. Quit bringing up my former moderator BS... You weren't even here when I was helping out with the forum.

yes, I'm seriously asking "why should my post be deleted?".....because you dont like me? So therefore all of my OT posts (little quips) should be void?

If you'd like to get a point across to me personally you can personally send me a personal message and I'll personally read it on my own personal time. If you want to report a bad post to a mod/admin you should click the little button.

p.s. I'll bring up your former mod status whenever I feel like it. It doesn't matter how long I've been a member or how much e-history I know. I know that when you started giving me crap in my other threads I had 4 seperate members pm me (personally) and tell me what an *** you were. Not one person pmmed me and said "you'll have to excuse him, he means well but comes across poorly.". Not one person came to your defense. I find that intriguing. I'm going to do some homework and see just what exactly took place to make you a "former" mod. I'm curious....and it's my right.

I've sent you a PM before...

It's not the fact that I don't like you I want it deleted... IT WAS A STUPID *** COMMENT, PERIOD!! What does Coke/Pepsi have to do with anything.

Your a *******... I still don't understand why you feel you need to bring it up. It proves nothing. I'm a moderator on three other forums at the moment. One of them being for a Automotive TV series I'm sure many of you watch. If I'm an *** to you, there's most likely a reason. As far as other PM's... I've got my own too, as well as e-mails. As much as I'd like to give out names, I can't do it.

Do you really not have something better to do you in you life that you have to do some "homework" on me? That's pretty pathetic. As far as members here, I've done more for the members her than you could dream with your undersized blowers. I've made penty of life long friends here. If someone PM'ed you and does not like me, chances are I thought they were an idiot (and rightfully so).

I can stop posting here in full and still be more a part of this forum than you are. I'm not kidding either. While you're doing your homework, add up how many group buys I've set up. How many times I've helped people with their cars... I'll admit, I get frustrated with some of the people on here. There's just a point where you have to let them know about rather them be oblivious.

How about this? I'll completely stop helping people with SHO's. However, I'll send them your way for your vast knowledge. ;)

I don't need the extra work, that's for sure. It seems you'd like to take over. Have at it.
