I have not detected any leaks, but the other day, the engine was getting a little warmer than normal. After I parked for about half an hour, I returned to see a small puddle of coolant on the ground.

What can cause that?

Was the puddle under the radiator? The rubber end tank seals are notorious for leaking when cold. You can get a replacement radiator for less than $150 from many sources. Even for as little as $100 from some. Shop around.

How old is your radiator cap? I had mine spit out coolant after I parked it last fall. Come to find out my cap wasn't releasing pressure due to corrosion. Just another thing to think about...

Actually, guys...it was almost 100 F outside. I sat in highway traffic a little longer than I normally do. Since then (about a week ago) I have not had the same problem.

As you look through the windshield from the driver's seat, i would say the leak was slightly right of center, very close to the front.

The entire cooling system is about 2 years old. Could I have had too much coolant?

SuperG,
I suggest you replace the t-stat if it is 2 years old, along with the temp. sensor., and you may need a rad. flush if it has been that long.

IMHO.....2 years and no probs. in Houston temps?? You are doing real good.

Ma Ma M :)
