Does this coolant temperature seem high for a 2010 SHO with ~211K miles considering the low outdoor temps and 30 mins early AM trip (20ish miles at interstate speeds and .75 miles on surface streets)?

Water Pump and Timing Gear changed February 2021 at ~155K miles.

No signs of leaks, oil looks normal visibly with no Blackstone Labs discrepancies, HVAC heat works well, AC works okay in summer (slight leak in AC system and a black car in the deep south are fighting all day), no CELs/codes, and no dashboard temp guage fluctuations in any weather/driving conditions.

Data is displayed by OBDLink Application dashboard and OBDLink MX+.

Picture 1 is immediately after arriving at destination.

Picture 2 is 8.5 hours later prior to departing destination.

does seem on the high side. thermostat should be fully open by 203f, iirc. so either it is not opening fully, or the fans are failing. have you checked the fans?

I haven't done any testing outside of listening for fans, visual inspection for leaks/unusual things, and checking codes. Since I wasnt sure if it was unusually high, I didn't want to get too crazy deep in diagnostics.

I know the high speed fan setting runs and I will have to check the low speed side. I think FORScan on my garage laptop will help since the Android App is hit or miss with me.

This was this morning at 1050.

fans should not come and stay on when you start the vehicle while at ambient.

the driver side fan (for a/c) will come on when climate control that requires a/c is activated.

passenger side fan should only come on when engine temp exceeds a set temp. so if that set temp is at or above 215f, then looks like there are no snafus. ecoboosts do run hotter than naturally aspirated.

one of the common tuning features is to turn fans on earlier and let them run longer to a) keep engine cooler, and b) save on/off cycles for the fans thus improving life.

Ugh... I completely forgot to mention that it is tuned by AJPTurbo. I'll check if I can find the message traffic and if Brad adjusted fan settings.

In the mean time, I'll check what SHOdded pointed out.

I literally had the opposite issue yesterday, Car refused to warm up after 30 minutes of driving, Forscan had both temp sensors at 120 degrees, I replaced the radiator last year and burped it but I decided to go park it on a hill and see what else I could get. No burps but after about 15 minutes (now 45ish minutes of total run time) the car shuttered, almost stalled, and the temp came up rapidly, I waited until it got to thermostat temp (180 according to the one I put in 2 years ago) it went right past it to 210 before the fans kicked on and it started cooling back down and hovered around 190 (ambient temp around 50 degrees), from shutter to operating temp was about 3 minutes. 10 minutes later cruising at 70 the temp tanked again, Just dropped off like I dipped the car in ice, and refused to come back up even with my ****** off teenager foot buried in it at 5k rpm. Water pump was replaced 3 years/70k miles ago, no leaks but hardly any pressure in the hoses. Air, Thermostat, Pump, who knows, I have never seen a car overcool in my life. Its worth mentioning that the ECM and PCM readings were matching and the cabin heat reflected the temp changes so its definitely not a sensor.

These cars do have the radiator, condenser, and the CAC all jammed together with no easy way to clean them. Check for buildup after 200k+ miles

TLDR: New thermostat and burping seems to have fixed it.

I spent some time looking things over and recognized that the thermostat housing, driver side hose/radiator never got hot. When the fans turned on the driver side was blowing ambient air temperature. This led me to believe the MotorRad thermostat might have gone bad.

I changed the thermostat, refilled/burped the system, and checked everything over. There were no leaks, all cooling system items were now hot, and the temps are holding steady between 195 and 215ish even with a 50 degrees higher ambient temp... only to have to do it again a week later when changing the alternator.

Side note: old thermostat in a *** of water seemed to open at the appropriate temps.

Thanks for the help, y'all.

Really?! A legitimate kitchen item that holds things and is used on a stove top that rhymes with p o t is filtered out?!
