Subframe Problems

[New to the SHO]

I took off my SFB's today, I only dropped the bolts to the bushings so it is still connected to the wheels... I tried to put my Aluminum bushings on and I can't get the damn subframe to line back up no matter what I do its still about 2-3 inches too far forward. Even If I move the wheels to push it back it still ends up in the same place.... I can't for the life of me get it back in the right place. Can anybody help me out???

there is a hole in the subframe next to the bolt hole fore the mount that corresponds to a hole in the body.I have had luck using a long sturdy screwdriver to line up these holes, you should then be able to put the bolt rite in.

Next time do only one bushing at a time.....well actually 2 at a time, front, then rear.

rebar from a construction site works well too. Once you get something in there to help piviot and line it back up it should be a snap

Alright so I tried to move the damn thing and I couldnt do it... I forgot to mention that their is no engine on the subframe so the body is up higher so I dont know how much difference that makes. I had somebody stand on the body to push it down while I tried to get it to line up using the screwdriver but I still couldnt get it... I was getting pretty ****** off. When I moved the subframe it hinged down so it would be directly under the mounting hole but it would be about 7 inches lower then when I push it up it swivled foreward back to the same spot.. this is where it was when it was pushed up all the way. The duct tape is only on there to hold up the Aluminum Subframe Bushing. Any insight??

Did you try to attach the front bolts first, and then the rear? Or one side at a time?

And why do you have tape holding your SFB's in? My cup style (the ones I hope you have) bushings are a really snug fit; nothing short of dropping the subframe from 5 feet is going to get them out of there.

I have none of them in right now... I can't get any of them to line up, that is the front right. I have tape holding it up because yea it is really snug when you get it in but if you wiggle it jsut the right spot it slides out. and I was moving the **** out of it trying to get it in. Did you do it front then back or side to side?

Ok, this is just a random thought.... but do you have the subframe on backwards? It kinda looks it in the picture, but I'm not entirely sure.

no i didnt even take out the subframe its attached to the wheels so if i roll wheels the subframe moves.

check to see if the steering shaft has come off the rack or column, it could be preventing the subframe from going up into place?
