How would I go about testing or checking my subframe bushings? Also, how many are there and does anyone know how much they cost.

In an earlier post (I think it was Steve) made the following comment: "My first inclination would be SFBs or the bolt has pulled out of the body"

What bolt would that be?

Thanks
Big

That would be the bolts that secure the subframe to the frame.

Aluminum SFBS start at around $100. Gen IIIs would run around $70-80.

Update... found the broken subframe bolt!! It was the "rear" subframe bolt! I'm assuming this is a dealer only part and will go to the dealer tomorrow morning and try and pick up left & right side bolts and bushings...

If you are planning on getting a new bolt ask them for part #XF1Z-5A364-AA. It's the subframe recall kit which includes 2 bolts, 2 washers, 2 nuts, and 2 rubber body plugs. The recall kit is going to run you somewhere around $16. If you are looking to get the subframe bushings also from the dealer good luck. Best bet would to be to get the aluminum subframe bushings from www.shonutperformance.com they have an incredible improvement in feel from the stock bushings. Good luck.

A far better course of action would be to go to the dealer with your VIN number and see if the recall was ever done.

If not, get it done FREE and it will fix your problem.

If it was done, point out that it FAILED and you want it fixed FREE.
