Hey another rookie mistake I pulled. I locked my keys in my car what’s the best way to unlock the car if I do this again I do have the keyless entry but 7/8 doesn’t work. So any ideas this isn’t an emergency.

Slim-Jim a back door thru the window is unfortunately easy, especially if you know how the linkages inside are arranged. Obviously I need not expand on the technique.

Preventing it in the future is having a $3 key copy made.

You can also get a coat hanger/wire around the interior door handle. Opening the door from the inside unlocks it as you pull the interior handle on either front door.

Much easier is to use the coat hanger to press the unlock switch. It's because of this that I now keep extra keys for my 89.

Also, FYI, the Door/Ignition key is just that. It's a Door and Ignition key but they are not the same. Yes, one key works both but half the cuts on the key are for each. It's possible to have a spare key made that will unlock the door but will not start the car. You just need to have it made by someone that can distinguish which cuts are which.
